All offices have flu shots for patients with private insurance. For medicaid patients since the state limits the amount of flu vaccine that they ship us we have a limited supply.  If we are out when you call us, please ask the front desk to place you on our call back list and as soon as we get more, we will give you a call. Flumist is in very limited supply this year due to issues with its manufacturing. We have received only 10% of what we ordered and we are not sure when we will be receiving more. Please do not wait for the Flumist to arrive and get your child vaccinated with the regular flu vaccine.

With spring upon as and kids playing more outside, we have started to see an increase of tick bites.  If your child is bitten by tick you can have the tick tested for Lyme disease at the Monmouth County Mosquito Control Center in Tinton Falls. Gently remove the tick with tweezers and place it in a zip-lock bag.

In light of the recent measles outbreak in California,  we would like to stress the importance of vaccinations for all our patients.  We do not accept patients into our practice who are not vaccinated unless it is for a valid medical reason.  We have taken this step to protect children too young to be vaccinated or who are immunocompromised. If you are looking into alternative vaccine schedules or delaying vaccinations, this is not the practice for you.
